My yard is my canvass

Living under the canopy of 60′ Oaks can be challenging and so the rules by which many gardeners follow and choose to live by do not always apply to me and my garden…

and neither should it always be in your garden. Gardening is about passion and the love of all things beautiful. There are times when you have to make the decision to give up or choose an alternative to the plant you so desire to grow but that is okay because Mother Nature has her rules and sometimes they are not the same rules that we gardeners want to follow. So choose instead to work with Mother Nature and nurture and grow your garden in such a way that you do not upset the balance of beauty and nature. Learn to love all the creatures big and small, creepy and crawly, furry and feathery because the garden loves visitors and the visitors love gardens.

As we make our way through the garden and discover on a crisp spring morning the first bloom of the season, remember that what we choose to grow should be in harmony with Mother Nature and not harm, destroy, or kill the delicate eco-system we each have in our own little garden…
